Commissioning a video can sometimes be a daunting prospect especially if it’s your first time. You’re likely to have all sorts of questions about what is involved in bringing your project to life and onto the screen in front of your audience.
Video is a highly effective communications tool and should be viewed as an investment in your business not just a ‘nice to have’. So, when considering its use it’s important to be sure that you are clear about your expectations and the objectives for your video.
With that in mind, an initial meeting is the first step to find out what your business is about, the challenges you face in your marketplace, the methods you currently use to communicate and how video can support or enhance them, what you want your video to achieve, your target audiences and what you want to tell them, the people who make your business what it is, etc.
We want to ensure that we work with you in an open and transparent way so that the process is stress free for you. Finding out as much as possible at the start makes it easier to develop a project and budget proposal that meets your objectives and identifies ways to give you added value and a great return on investment.
As part of pre-production we’ll discuss things like what or who needs to be included in your film, potential shooting locations, number of filming and post production days, delivery options, and any other elements that might be required. For example, can your project be covered by a small crew or will it require multi-camera coverage and a larger crew. Will your film work better with a voiceover or an on-screen presenter. Maybe a drama reconstruction using actors could tell the story more effectively, or animation or on-screen graphics might be more appropriate to reinforce key messages.
Once we’ve nailed down final brief and budget, we can schedule filming dates and start shooting. After filming has been completed, we then move on to the post-production phase. This is where the material is carefully and creatively edited, music and graphics are added if required, etc. After post production is completed and you’re happy with the end result, your film will be delivered in your chosen format.
